Gizmo is a very special companion to his family, as any Coton de Tulear would be. Gizmo's family really needed to achieve peace of mind about leaving him behind when they travel (which they love to do). We first met Gizmo as a training client and now he stays at The Cultured Canine when his family is away. Here he receives all the special care and training he needs. Since he started staying with us, he has mastered housetraining and has acquired an impressive set of pet manners (for example, he no longer begs at the table or steals sandwiches!). His Down Stay is especially lovely and made some of his photos possible!
Gizmo has allergies, so we are sure to bathe him with his special shampoo while he is here, just as they do at home. And he is brushed from head to toe twice a day as his lush Coton de Tulear coat demands, even when it is trimmed short. Gizmo travels well, so he is treated to frequent trips by car in his Fido Rido car seat and even by train to Manhattan. He, Diane and Elliott went to Pet Fashion Week in 2008 where they all had a great time checking out new pet clothing, furniture and, of course, treats. Gizmo and Elliott, Diane's Maltese, are fast friends despite their age difference (Elliott is 10 years older than Gizmo). Gizmo has visited with other friendly dogs at their homes during his vacations, including Pax, Ping and Sparky (all friends of Elliott's and Cultured Canine vacationers).
To quote Gizmo's "mama", "I honestly would not go on vacation if I thought Gizmo was unhappy. When I leave him with you, I know he's happy, well taken care of and exercised. He even comes home knowing a few more tricks then when I sent him to you. When I go on vacation and leave Gizmo with you, I feel he is on vacation too!"
